Job Purpose
The Poultry Demand Planner (Data Analyst) will be responsible for forecasting demand across the Companys poultry products (day-old chicks feeds vaccines and related inputs) ensuring optimal stock availability minimizing wastage and supporting strategic production and distribution planning. The role links sales data market intelligence and production cycles to drive data-driven decision-making across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities
ü Develop accurate short- medium- and long-term demand forecasts for poultry products using historical sales data and market trends.
ü Analyze sales performance seasonal trends and regional demand patterns across Uganda and export markets.
ü Collaborate with Sales Production (Hatchery & Feed Mill) Procurement and Logistics teams to align demand plans with supply capacity.
ü Maintain and improve forecasting models using statistical tools and data analytics techniques.
ü Monitor forecast accuracy (bias variance MAPE) and continuously improve planning assumptions.
ü Support production planning for hatchery cycles feed production schedules and inventory replenishment.
ü Identify risks related to overproduction underproduction disease outbreaks or market volatility.
ü Prepare weekly and monthly demand planning reports for management review.
ü Provide insights on pricing promotions and market expansion opportunities using data analytics.
ü Drive digital transformation in demand planning through ERP and data visualization tools.
