Mobile Software Engineer- Senior Consultant Level

We are looking for Versatile curious and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Software Engineer you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing designing building and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. The Work itself: 

• Design code and systems that touch 40% of the world population while influencing Visas internal standards for scalability security and reusability 
• Collaborate multi-functionally to create design artifacts and develop best-in-class software solutions for multiple Visa technical offerings 
• Actively contribute to product quality improvements valuable service technology and new business flows in diverse agile squads 
• Develop robust and scalable products intended for a myriad of customers including end-user merchants b2b and business to government solutions. 
• Leverage innovative technologies to build the next generation of Payment Services Transaction Platforms Real-Time Payments and Buy Now Pay Later Technology

Essential Functions:

• Works directly with product owners to gather and refine requirements across products adding and taking into account existing tools and solutions across the organization.
• Develops and designs advanced architect solutions that are robust and scalable considering integrations with other solutions across the internal technical ecosystem.
• Provides domain expertise on the development of technical documentation of solutions and contributes to standard processes in technical documentation as needed.
• Plays a key role in the development and delivery of new features across products from end-to-end.

Responsibilities:

• This is a highly hands-on technical role requiring active contribution to production code architecture design and engineering standards.
• The role operates in a fast-paced iterative environment with close collaboration across product backend platform and security teams.
• Candidates should be comfortable working in evolving problem spaces and contributing to long-term mobile platform direction.
• Strong ownership is expected from technical design and implementation through release and post-production support.
• The position may require participation in design reviews sprint demos and technical strategy discussions.
• Experience working in enterprise-scale environments with high reliability and security standards is highly valued.
• This role may require occasional support during release cycles or production escalations.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager. 

Qualifications :

Basic Qualifications:
8 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelors Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD OR 11 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters MBA JD MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
610 years of professional mobile application development experience.
3 years of hands-on experience building and shipping production applications using Flutter (Dart)
Experience building scalable consumer-facing mobile platforms.
Experience designing reusable mobile modules or shared UI component libraries.
Exposure to microservices-based backend ecosystems.
Experience integrating AI-powered APIs or intelligent workflows into mobile applications.
Familiarity with Firebase AWS or similar cloud-integrated mobile services.
Experience working in security-sensitive or regulated environments.
Experience mentoring engineers and influencing engineering standards.
Strong proficiency in at least one native platform:
Swift (iOS)
Kotlin (Android)
Demonstrated experience shipping apps through App Store and/or Google Play release cycles
Strong understanding of:
RESTful API integration
JSON parsing and serialization
Secure authentication flows (OAuth 2.0 OIDC token handling)
Secure storage (Keychain Keystore encrypted storage patterns)
Experience implementing modular and scalable architecture patterns (MVVM Clean Architecture BLoC etc.).
Strong debugging skills and experience with performance optimization tools.
Experience with Git-based workflows (GitHub GitLab or Bitbucket).
Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for mobile build and release automation.

We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didnt work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.

Additional Information :

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk communicate in person and by telephone frequently operate standard office equipment such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for this position is 152200.00 to 243700.00 USD per year which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge skills experience and addition this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
