Part-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)
Birkwood Village/Montrose Health Center
We are seeking a compassionate resident-focused Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our therapy team on a part-time basis. This role supports our mission of helping residents maintain mobility independence and quality of life through individualized meaningful therapy services.
About the Role
The PTA works under the direction of our licensed Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions to residents in our long-term care and assisted living community. This position is ideal for someone who values teamwork communication and building relationships with older adults.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide physical therapy treatments as outlined in the PTs plan of care
- Assist with resident assessments documentation and progress updates
- Support residents in achieving mobility strength and functional goals
- Collaborate with nursing therapy and interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain accurate timely and compliant documentation
- Promote a positive encouraging environment for residents and families
Qualifications
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license in the state of Iowa
- Experience in long-term care or geriatrics preferred but not required
- Strong communication teamwork and organizational skills
- Compassionate approach and commitment to resident dignity and well-being
