Job Summary
Part-Time Nanny / Newborn Caregiver (Temporary 2 Months Minimum)
Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable caring and attentive part-time nanny / caregiver to assist with the care of a newborn baby for approximately 4 hours per day Monday to Friday starting at 08:00 for a minimum period of 2 months.
This role is designed to support a parent working from home and requires someone confident calm and experienced with newborn care.
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday
- 08:00 12:00 (4 hours per day)
- Minimum 2-month commitment
Key Responsibilities
Primary focus is the safe and attentive care of a newborn. Duties include:
- Full supervision and care of the baby during working hours
- Preparing and filling formula bottles according to instructions
- Washing sterilising and sanitising bottles and feeding equipment
- Changing nappies and maintaining hygiene standards
- Assisting with newborn stretches and basic developmental movements
- Reading and engaging in age-appropriate stimulation activities
- Taking the baby for short walks (weather permitting)
- Supporting sleep routines
- Monitoring babys wellbeing and alerting parents to any concerns
- Light baby-related tidying (no general household cleaning required)
Minimum Requirements (Must Have)
- Clear criminal record
- Ability to pass a medical assessment if required
- Legal right to work in South Africa
- Valid South African bank account
- Comfortable and confident caring for a newborn
- Non-smoker
- Reliable transport to and from work
Ideal / Nice to Have
- Studying or qualified in Early Childhood Development (ECD)
- Paediatric First Aid certification
- Previous experience caring for newborns
- Fluent in English
- Calm patient and nurturing temperament
- Strong hygiene standards

Additional Information
