Purpose of Role
Under Armour Europe is seeking an Accountant to join its Finance team based in Amsterdam. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated passionate flexible and detail-oriented individual to become part of a high-performing Finance team.
This is a hands-on role with responsibilities including the preparation of compliance filings booking journal entries and reconciling and reviewing key account balances. The Accountant will report to the Accounting Manager.
Your Impact
Perform month and year-end closing procedures for your assigned area of responsibility (SG&A Intercompany) including but not limited to bookkeeping reviewing of financial information preparing and posting journal entries and preparing account reconciliations variance analysis and transactional scope 14 Legal Entities.
Prepare and manage general ledger entries and accruals
Perform reconciliation of the balance sheet to ensure accuracy of financials
Ensure timely and accurate completion of Month End Closing activities
Ensure accurate technical accounting both local and US GAAP
Support internal and external audits and participate in tax audits
Ensure compliance with key internal controls policies and procedures
Keep relevant Desktop procedures and processes up to date and document new ones accordingly
Identify and implement controls processes and system improvements
Support the Under Armour Corporate team on ad hoc issues and improvement projects where required
Maintain close collaboration with FP&A and other stakeholders
Other ad hoc duties deemed necessary by the Senior Manager Accounting
Qualifications
Strong technical accounting skills with a solid understanding of US GAAP general ledger functions and the month-end close process
SAP experience preferred
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in data analytics
Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and diverse environment
Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
Team player with a demonstrated ability to influence others beyond direct team peers
Fluency in English
