Job Description
This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of college grounds andworking on a variety of maintenance projects. The incumbent will be expected to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions operate tools and equipment and contribute to a positive and safe work environment at all times.
Start date: April 27th
End date: August 28th
Location: On-site Red Deer Polytechnic
Job Duties
Landscaper duties include:
- Maintaining college grounds
- Working both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
- Mowing lawns planting weeding watering and pruning plants as directed
- Controlling insects and disease as directed
- Picking up litter
- Contributing to a positive and safe work environment at all times
- Installing items with power tools
- Painting and completing other minor maintenance projects as requested
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid drivers license
- Strong work ethic attendance record and productivity in an independent work environment (demonstrated through previous employment or volunteer experience)
- Strong customer service teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to perform basic labouring activities including heavy lifting and exert frequent physical effort
Preferred Qualifications
- Ride-on mower experience is an asset
- Experience with power tools gas powered mowers tiller electric clippers edgers and weed trims is preferred
