The Company: An expanding aerospace structural manufacturer establishing and scaling engineering capabilities in India to support AIRBUS programs. The Mechanical Engineer will contribute to industrialization process definition and production support for structural parts and assemblies.

Position Summary:
Owned by the Sheet Metal Engineering Department the Mechanical Engineer will define industrialize and support manufacturing and assembly processes for aerospace structural components. Candidate must have at least one of the following specializations: Bending / Hand Forming; Sheet Metal Fabrication; Press & Heat Treatment; or Mechanical Assembly. The role requires hands-on process definition tooling specification shopfloor support quality compliance and continuous improvement to meet AIRBUS standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read interpret and analyze AIRBUS drawings AIPI/ABD documentation specifications and material requirements.
- Define and optimize manufacturing/process plans aligned to your specialization (examples below) including operation sequences cycle times tooling and fixturing.
- Bending / Hand Forming: bending sequences springback mitigation forming jigs operator training.
- Sheet Metal Fabrication: cutting trimming light fabrication edge preparation fixture design.
- Press & Heat Treatment: press setup die/tool validation heat-treatment cycles distortion control.
- Mechanical Assembly: fastening/sealing procedures torque sequences assembly fixtures and test jigs.
- Create detailed Shop Floor Instructions SOPs operation cards and tooling specifications; prepare FAI (AS9102) packages DMR and PAP files.
- Participate in PFMEA Control Plans APQP and change-control activities; produce inspection points and control documentation.
- Support production ramp-up: trials capability studies first articles operator training and troubleshooting.
- Collaborate with quality on nonconformity resolution (QRQC 8D) and with supply chain for material/process readiness.
- Implement and lead continuous improvement projects (Lean Kaizen SMED) to reduce cycle time scrap and rework; monitor KPIs (OEE first-pass yield scrap rework throughput).
- Interface professionally with AIRBUS engineering/quality teams and internal cross-functional stakeholders; report progress to management.
Required Technical Skills & Experience:
- 310 years experience in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing with demonstrable experience in at least one of the listed specializations.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace materials (Aluminium Titanium Stainless steels) and relevant process impacts.
- Experience with AIRBUS documentation (AIPI ABD) and AS9102/EN9100 requirements preferred.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM tools CATIA V5/V6 preferred; able to read 2D/3D drawings fluently.
- Familiarity with inspection and measurement techniques (CMM gauges hardness testers) relevant to specialization.
- Practical experience with PFMEA Control Plans APQP; SPC/MSA knowledge advantageous.
- Problem-solving process validation capability analysis and root-cause investigation skills.
- Good documentation discipline and ability to produce clear shopfloor documentation and training materials.
- Professional English mandatory; experience in multicultural or international (EuropeIndia) collaboration advantageous.
Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering Metallurgy Materials Science Aeronautical Engineering or equivalent.
Behavioral Competencies:

- Ability to train and mentor operators and junior engineers.
- Proactive autonomous and able to work under production pressures.
