The Transcriptionist is responsible for accurately converting audio and video recordings into written documents while maintaining high standards of quality confidentiality and formatting consistency. This role requires exceptional listening skills attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote environment. The Transcriptionist supports business operations legal documentation medical records (if applicable) media content or internal communications depending on assignment.

Key Responsibilities

Transcribe audio and video recordings accurately and efficiently

Ensure proper grammar punctuation and formatting in final documents

Edit and proofread transcripts for clarity and correctness

Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

Meet turnaround time requirements and productivity standards

Follow style guides and transcription protocols

Use transcription software and productivity tools effectively

Communicate with supervisors regarding unclear audio or content issues

Organize and submit completed transcripts according to workflow procedures

Maintain consistent quality across high-volume assignments
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelors degree preferred)

13 years of experience in transcription administrative support or related work
-
Excellent listening comprehension and typing accuracy (typically 65 WPM preferred)

Strong command of English grammar and punctuation

Experience using transcription software or word processing tools

High attention to detail and ability to work independently

Reliable high-speed internet connection and secure workspace
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in legal medical academic or corporate transcription

Familiarity with confidentiality standards (e.g. HIPAA if applicable)
