Job Description
Job Title: Secondary Chemistry Teacher IB (MYP/DP) - Maternity Cover
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Secondary Chemistry Teacher to teach the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) and/or Diploma Programme (DP). The candidate should be passionate about science education and committed to delivering engaging inquiry-based learning aligned with IB standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver Chemistry lessons as per IB MYP/DP curriculum
Prepare lesson plans practical lab sessions and assessments in line with IB guidelines
Encourage scientific inquiry critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Monitor and assess student progress providing constructive feedback
Maintain lab safety standards and proper documentation
Participate in school meetings professional development and school activities
Requirements:
Bachelors/Masters degree in Chemistry or related field
IB teaching experience preferred (MYP/DP)
Strong subject knowledge and laboratory management skills
Good communication and classroom management abilities
