Production Planner

Key Accountabilities

• Production Scheduling & Capacity Planning:
  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules using ERP/MES systems (e.g. SAP Oracle) to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Monitor capacity utilization and identify bottlenecks; propose solutions to optimize production flow.
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to ensure schedule adherence and address deviations in real-time.
• Inventory Management:
  • Manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels to meet target service levels while minimizing carrying costs.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of materials and avoid production delays.
  • Implement inventory control strategies to reduce obsolescence and improve turnover.
• Demand & Supply Alignment:
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings to align production plans with sales forecasts.
  • Analyze demand variability and adjust schedules to accommodate urgent orders or changes in priority.
• Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Generate daily/weekly production performance reports including schedule adherence capacity utilization and inventory metrics.
  • Use data analytics tools (e.g. Excel Power BI) to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Liaise with procurement logistics quality assurance and sales teams to resolve conflicts and ensure smooth operations.
  • Communication schedule changes proactively to all stakeholders.
• Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities to streamline planning processes reduce lead times and enhance supply chain resilience.
  • Support the implementation of digital tools (e.g. APS - Advanced Planning Systems) for automated scheduling.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required:

• Bachelors degree in supply chain management Logistics Industrial Engineering Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experiencein production planning inventory management or supply chain planning within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency inERP systems(SAP Oracle Microsoft Dynamics) andadvanced Excel(pivot tables macros formulas).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to dynamic operational changes.

Preferred:

• Certification in APICS CPIM or CSCP.
• Experience withAdvanced Planning Systems (APS)ordemand planning tools.
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (e.g. Just-in-Time Kanban).
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements (e.g. ISO standards GMP).
