Role Purpose
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the proactive maintenance and repair of our diverse fleet including light and medium-duty gasoline and diesel vehicles trailers and specialized equipment. Your mission is to maximize fleet uptime and ensure every vehicle leaving the shop meets the highest standards of safety and performance.
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance & Repair
Diagnostic Inspections: Systematically inspect vehicles and trailers to identify mechanical issues before they lead to downtime.
Mechanical Repairs: Execute minor to mid-level repairs including brakes alternators batteries starters suspension and steering components.
Tire Service: Manage tire health for the entire fleet performing changes and repairs for both automotive units and trailers.
Preventative Maintenance (PM): Perform routine oil changes filter replacements and fluid flushes to extend the life of company assets.
Inventory & Logistics
Parts Management: Proactively identify source and order necessary parts and materials to minimize repair lead times.
Service Documentation: Maintain meticulous digital and physical records of all maintenance mileage and parts used for each asset.
Shop Stewardship: Keep the workspace clean organized and professional ensuring tools are accounted for and in good working order.
Safety & Compliance
Regulatory Oversight: Ensure all repairs and shop activities comply with OSHA standards and internal safety protocols.
Winter Operations: Support the team during peak seasonal needs including equipment readiness and snow removal operations.
Fleet Safety: Verify that all vehicles meet North Carolina safety requirements before being returned to service.

Requirements & Skill
Experience: Proven experience in automotive maintenance; familiarity with diesel engines is a significant plus.
Licensing: Valid NC Drivers License with a clean driving record.
Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs (overhead) and perform continuous physical tasks (bending stooping standing).
Technical Growth: A strong desire to learn advanced diagnostic techniques workflow optimization and green-industry safety standards.
Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills for tracking service records and coordinating with the Production team.
Environment: Ability to work in a shop environment and outdoors in various weather conditions as needed.
