Were currently looking for a lab-based scientist with a strong understanding of hematopoietic stem cell (HSC) biology / hematopoiesis to evaluate the efficacy safety and translatability of new therapies in non-malignant hematological disorders focusing on hemoglobinopathies. As part of a highly collaborative international team you will work alongside research associates and scientists developing medicines for the future.
This is a hands-on laboratory position. You will use cell culturebased in vitro models to characterize and validate therapeutic strategies for anemic disorders and support studies using preclinical animal models. This role requires strong expertise in cell culture assays and a range of in vitro techniques particularly flow cytometry along with prior experience in animal handling and experimentation.
These responsibilities capture a portion of what your work will look like:
Contribute to early drug discovery projects by evaluating the efficacy and safety of novel therapeutic targets or compounds using cell culture assays and preclinical animal models.
Work with cell lines primary cells and tissues including patient-derived material performing genetic manipulation assays ex vivo differentiation cultures and molecular assays (e.g. multicolor flow cytometry qPCR western blotting).
Work with transgenic mouse models including handling tissue collection and processing
Independently design execute and interpret complex preclinical studies; and guide associates as needed.
Analyze data using robust statistical methods maintain detailed documentation and effectively communicate findings to the research team
