You will play a critical role in expanding market presence supporting key projects and contributing to the continued success of a growing organization.
As the Outside Sales Representative you will work in the field making sales calls and attending industry events to develop close relationships with key decision-makers among existing and prospective customers. You will act as a trusted advisor managing accounts identifying opportunities and collaborating internally to deliver exceptional service.
Develop service and grow relationships with existing customers while identifying and acquiring new customer accounts within the assigned territory.
Build long-term partnerships by understanding customer needs providing tailored solutions and maintaining a high level of responsiveness and professionalism.
Plan and execute territory coverage including route planning and regular customer visits to maximize sales performance.
Consistently meet or exceed sales targets while preparing accurate sales forecasts and pipeline updates.
Resolve customer issues and liaise with inside sales credit and warehouse teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and customer satisfaction.
Provide or coordinate quotes order support and dispute resolution serving as the primary point of contact between the customer and the company.
Develop and implement follow-up strategies for specific projects and ongoing account management.
Prepare annual sales forecasts and review sales performance with the Regional Manager on a monthly basis or as required.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products applications and market trends.
Participate in trade shows special sales functions and industry events as required to promote products and strengthen brand visibility.
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:
Minimum of 4 years experience in a customer service or sales role within a related industry; experience with mechanical/industrial pipe valves and fittings is strongly preferred.
College Diploma in Sales/Marketing Business Administration Mechanical Engineering Technology (CET) Fire Protection or a related discipline.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate technical product information; ability to read blueprints is an asset.
Intermediate computer proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel Outlook and web-based applications.
Proven business development and negotiation skills with a strong customer-focused mindset.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility.
Highly organized self-motivated and capable of managing priorities with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Ability to travel daily within the territory with occasional overnight travel as required.
Must be able to meet all travel requirements within and outside of Canada.
