The Senior Manager Data Analytics and Operations is responsible for the day-to-day execution and tactical implementation of data analytics initiatives within the Health Analytics Solutions (HAS) team. This role serves as a key operational leader managing analytics workflows overseeing data pipeline operations and ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytics products to internal and external customers. The Senior Manager will work closely with the Senior Director to translate strategic objectives into actionable deliverables while leading a team of data analysts and coordinating cross-functional activities.



Responsibilities

Data Operations Management:

Oversee daily operations of data analytics pipelines ETL processes and data quality monitoring
Manage production schedules for recurring analytics deliverables and customer reports
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for data analytics workflows
Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline issues ensuring minimal disruption to operations
Coordinate with IT and data engineering teams on infrastructure and technical requirements

Team Leadership and Development:

Directly manage and mentor a team of 3-5 data analysts and associate data scientists
Conduct regular 1:1s performance reviews and career development planning
Assign tasks set priorities and monitor team workload to ensure timely delivery
Foster a collaborative team environment and promote knowledge sharing
Identify training needs and facilitate skill development opportunities

Analytics Delivery and Quality Assurance:

Ensure timely and accurate delivery of analytics products to customers and stakeholders
Implement quality control processes for data validation and report accuracy
Review and approve team deliverables before customer release
Manage service level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Document analytics methodologies and maintain technical documentation

Customer Support and Engagement:

Serve as primary point of contact for day-to-day customer inquiries and requests
Coordinate with account management on operational aspects of customer engagements
Support customer onboarding processes and technical implementation
Gather feedback on analytics products and identify improvement opportunities
Prepare status reports and presentations on operational metrics

Project Coordination:

Lead tactical analytics projects from requirements gathering through delivery
Develop project plans timelines and resource allocation for team initiatives
Track project milestones and proactively identify and mitigate risks
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (IT operations sales) on project dependencies

Experience with collaborating and engaging with corporate IT for provision of support and maintenance is particularly important.
Report project status to Senior Director and escalate issues as needed

Process Improvement:

Identify opportunities to automate routine analytics tasks and improve efficiency
Implement best practices for code management version control and documentation
Participate in the evaluation and adoption of new analytics tools and technologies
Streamline workflows to reduce turnaround time and increase productivity
Identify and champion the development of new capabilities and enhancements to analytics capabilities and infrastructure.

Management Responsibilities:

Build lead and develop a high-performing team of data analysts
Provide ongoing coaching feedback and professional development opportunities
Conduct performance evaluations and support career progression
Manage workload distribution and resource allocation
Foster inclusive team culture aligned with Quest values



Qualifications

Preferred Work Experience:

7 years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence roles
3 years of people management experience with demonstrated success in team development
Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
Background in pharmaceutical market access patient services or specialty pharmacy
Experience with HIPAA compliance (both Safe Harbor and statistical de-identification) and handling PHI/PII data

Experience or understanding of statistical de-identification principles and tokenization software.

Ability to sit for extended periods while working on computer
Visual acuity for computer screen work and data analysis
Mental concentration for extended periods analyzing complex data
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Capacity to multitask and manage competing priorities

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Technical Skills:

Strong proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g. Snowflake SQL Server Oracle)
Advanced skills in Python or R for data manipulation analysis and automation
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau Power BI or similar)
Knowledge of ETL/ELT tools and data pipeline orchestration (e.g. Matillion (preferred) Airflow dbt)
Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD practices

Leadership & Management:

Strong people management and team development skills
Excellent project management with ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Ability to motivate develop and retain talented analytics professionals

Communication & Collaboration:

Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Strong presentation skills for both technical and business audiences
Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Customer-focused mindset with commitment to quality service delivery

Responsibilities include:

Bachelors degree in Data Science Statistics Computer Science Analytics or related quantitative field required

Masters degree in Data Science Statistics Computer Science Analytics or related quantitative field preferred

Primarily remote/office environment with standard business conditions. Extended periods of computer use in office or home office setting. May require occasional work during non-standard hours to support critical deliverables or system maintenance. Virtual meeting environment with cross-time zone collaboration.
