We are seeking a professional reliable and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team in a public healthcare setting. This is an observe and report position focused on maintaining a safe secure and respectful environment for staff residents and visitors.

Due to the nature of the setting the selected candidate must consistently demonstrate the highest level of professionalism courtesy and discretion along with strong de-escalation skills when situations arise.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct internal facility rounds every hour and more frequently as needed
• Monitor the premises to ensure the safety and security of staff residents and visitors
• Observe and report any unusual or suspicious activity
• Provide verbal support and presence when staff request assistance
• Maintain detailed and accurate incident reports
• Respond calmly and professionally to situations requiring de-escalation
• Uphold facility policies and security procedures at all times

Required Qualifications

• Ability to pass a statewide and nationwide criminal background check including sex offender registry check
• Ability to pass a drug screening upon hire
• Must be eligible to obtain a Private Security Person License through the State of Wisconsin
• No felony convictions in accordance with the Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) requirements
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated reliability and punctuality
• Professional appearance and demeanor at all times
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
• Must be 18 years of age or older
• Must possess the values important to Per Mar Security Integrity Communication Excellent Service and Accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior law enforcement experience
• Military background
• Previous security experience
• Experience working in healthcare public service or high-interaction environments

Work Environment

This position is located in a public healthcare facility. Officers must be comfortable working around vulnerable populations and interacting respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Professional conduct empathy and strong communication skills are essential.
