• Operateheavymowingequipmentsuch asfairwayroughmowersand tractors.
• Operate avariety ofmowing equipment such as agreens mowerteesmowerpush mower edger weedeater blower irrigationapplicatormaintenancevehicleand othermiscellaneousequipmentused in the upkeepof the golf course.
• Implementand maintain any and allpolicies andprocedures asdirected by SuperintendentAssistant Superintendent andGeneral Manager.
• Performequipmentcleaningandpreventativemaintenanceonmowersandassortedequipment.
• Pickupdebristrashlimbsrockandanyotherdebristopreservecourseconditionsandappearance.
• Ascertainproperprotocolandtechniquesformowingtrimmingandothermaintenanceprocedures. Continuouslyobtain furthereducation for these protocolsfrom the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent.
• Fill outpertinentforms as required by the departmentonatimely forms may be necessary for workflowprocessespreventativemaintenanceor perhaps capturing forms mayinclude equipment logs fuelusagepreventative maintenance schedules to the departmental recordkeeping policy.
• Maintainacleansafeandorganizedworking environment.
• Assistinirrigation repairsspecialprojectsandotherrepairsonthe course.
• Fertilize andapplychemicals toappropriate landscape andarea(s) under thesupervision ofthelicensed applicator.
• Maintainaprofessionalimageatall times.
• Performothermiscellaneousmaintenancedutiestothegolfcourseas assigned.
• Responsibleforreturningequipmenttoitsdesignatedlocation.
• Otherrelateddutiesasassigned.
• RequiredEducationandExperience
  • HighSchooldegreeorequivalent.
  • Aminimum ofthreemonthsofexperience in landscape maintenance.
  • Abilitytooccasionallywork hoursotherthantheregulardaytimeschedulesuchasweekendsand evenings.
• RequiredCertificateandlicenses
  • ValiddriverslicensefromTexas or any other US state(Approximately10%drivingtimeinaCity vehicle.)
• PreferredQualifications
  • Minimumofsixmonthsofexperience in landscape maintenance.
  • Experience working in a similar position at a Golf Course.

• Must be knowledgeable of turfgrass maintenance andable tooperate heavy/light mowing equipment repair irrigation systems and have basic troubleshootingskills on mowing equipment failures.
• Ability to speak readandwriteinEnglish.
• Abilitytocommunicateeffectivelybothverballyandin writing.
• Abilitytofollowdetailedverbalandwritteninstructions.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such assafety rules operating andmaintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Abilitytocommunicatewithotheremployeesandthe generalpublicinacourteousanddiplomatic manner.
• Skill inhandlingmultipletasksandprioritizing.
• Abilitytoworkhoursotherthantheregulardaytimeschedulesuchon-calloremergencyresponse situations.
• When requested must beable to wear personal protective equipment steel-toed leather or composite-toed bootsgloves eye protection head protection safety vest and ear protection.
• Workersmustbeincompliancewithsafetyproceduresandusageofsafety equipment.
• Skillinoperatingassignedequipmenttoolsandvehicles safely.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to lift or move 50 lbs. with regularity.

Working Environment:While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives; risk of radiation and vibration.
