DescriptionSummer Quality/Regulatory Affairs Summer Internship Program offers students the opportunity to gain experience in Public Health Reporting by laboratories to support disease surveillance outbreak detection population health monitoring and regulatory and mandated reporting.
This is an Onsite position at Wooddale IL
Duration: 10 weeks beginning June 1 2026.
Mon - Fri: 8am to 4pm
Pay Range: 21.50/hr to 25/hr.
Responsibilities- Update/validate a global list of tests with the appropriate SNOMED codes to support compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Knowledge gained:
- SNOMED CT (Systematized Nomenclature of MedicineClinical Terms) - a globally recognized clinical vocabulary that provides standardized codes for medical conceptssuch as diagnoses symptoms lab findings procedures and organisms.
- Healthcare interoperability the exchange of data among healthcare systems in a standard way
- Regulatory compliance
- Clinical Laboratory operations
Qualifications- Completed Junior year in a four-year baccalaureate program in public health medical laboratory science human biology microbiology medical coding or another human biomedical science-related field
- A minimum of 3.0 or better overall from an accredited institution
- Completed course work in the following:
- Public Health
- Microbiology
- Biology
- Other medical/science-related courses
Required documentation to upload when applying
