Job Summary

Description: Shawsheen Valley Technical High School is seeking a School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 school year. The role of this School Psychologist will be to conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations as part of the Special Education eligibility process and to provide individual counseling as needed. The School Psychologist may also be included as a participant in Student Support Teams and MTSS/SEL Teams to assist in determining appropriate interventions through the general education model for support. This is a full-time school-year position.

Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree or higher in Special Education Psychology and/or Counseling/Related Services
  • Massachusetts DESE licensure as a School Psychologist
  • Well developed evaluation and assessment experience
  • Strong ability to write comprehensive evaluation reports in accordance with federal and state guidelines with specific and individualized recommendations
  • Experience with and understanding of special education process and regulations
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills both written and oral
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of team members and providers both in and out of district
  • Strong organizational skills flexibility and ability to work within timelines
  • Has experience building rapport with adolescent students

Responsibilities:

  • Complete comprehensive cognitive achievement and social emotional assessments
  • Write comprehensive evaluation reports for special education initial and re-evaluations
  • Collaborate with team members to support the development of academic goals for students with different abilities strengths needs and interventions that help students progress to their goals
  • Oversee and manage evaluation scheduling to stay within accordance with state and federal regulation timelines
  • Work effectively with parents teachers related service provides and other stakeholders
  • Provide individual counseling to students as needed
  • Responsible for implementing other job-related duties as assigned
