DescriptionAnatomic Path Support Representative II - Metairie LA Monday to Friday 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM
The position provides general support for the Anatomic Pathology function.
Pay range: $17.20 per hour
Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills training experience education and where applicable certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Successful candidates may be eligible to receive annual performance bonus compensation.

Responsibilities- Filing and retrieval of slides as requested
- Electronic recording of slides into Laboratory Information System (LIS)
- Storage of laboratory records according to established record management protocol
- May load/unload slides onto the Focal Point instrument
- Manage process for requesting recuts special stains and immunohistochemistrystains
- May provide QA/QC documentationsupport
- Participate in orientation and training of newly hired employees asneeded
- Escalate complex customer issues to appropriate individuals/departments
- Monitor and manage pendinglists
- May administer and track approved release of AP materials according to corporatepolicy
- May place client calls as indicated in corporate Anatomic Pathology Report Notification SOP
- Contact clients to request additionalinformation
- Handle incoming calls responding in a professional and timelymanner
- Able to perform all AP Support Specialist I duties asneeded
- Other duties asassigned
QualificationsRequired WorkExperience:
1-3 years relatedexperience
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
- Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
- Frequent walking and/orstanding.
- May be required to use a wide variety of manual tools and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of whichdemand significant manualdexterity
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of basic computer functions
- Quest LIS knowledge isdesirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology isdesirable
Skills:
- Data Entry skills
- Good clerical organizational phone and communication skills
Education
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
