Job Description
As a Security Officer - Flex - Unarmed - Campus Sitein Chicago IL you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity. As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. Learn more: As an unarmed Patrol Officer at an education location you will conduct routine patrols and primarily drive between assigned areas helping to discourage security-related incidents through a visible presence. You will document observations respond to calls for service and support students staff and visitors with clear communication and customer service. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to students faculty staff and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities in an educational location.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including assisting with medical calls fire alarms disorderly conduct and policy violations and/or coordinating with campus authorities and local first responders as directed.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings residence halls common areas loading docks parking areas and perimeter routes to help to deter unwanted activity and identify hazards maintenance issues and unsecured doors.
- Monitor access points and interior areas as assigned including verifying identification and/or authorization managing visitor check-in guidance enforcing posted rules and supporting special events and peak traffic periods.
- Document patrol activities incidents and service requests in written and/or electronic reports communicate observations to Allied Universal supervision and site contacts and assist with follow-up such as evidence preservation and lost and found procedures.
Minimum Requirements:
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Be 21 years of age.
- A valid drivers license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
