Position Function:
This position plans and coordinates the activities of multiple projects and grants under the general direction of the Director of CAVS Extension at the Canton MS location. Responsibilities include supporting projects across all phases planning implementation monitoring and reporting and providing administrative and coordination support to project teams. The Project Coordinator also supports marketing and outreach efforts related to programs training and funded initiatives including coordination of communications materials and stakeholder engagement. This role enhances project communication organization delivery compliance evaluation and visibility to ensure effective execution and impact of funded programs.

Department Profile:
The Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems Extension (CAVS-E) headquartered in Canton MS maintains a strong interaction with industry and is focused on providing engineering services to manufacturing-based industries. Major activities include teaching professional development workshops conducting on-site projects and technology transfer. The Centers ultimate objective is to assist the state in technology based economic development through projects and training with MS companies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Stays abreast of project goals and deadlines and tracks teams progress toward meeting deliverables.
2. Communicates with funding agency representatives and stakeholders as coordinated with the PI and grant administrators.
3. Promote the Centers offerings to key stakeholders through marketing social media and industry events serving to increase center visibility.
4. Assist in the coordination of professional development training.
5. Assist in the development of systems and procedures to improve the efficiency of the Center.
6. Coordinates logistics for the project team (e.g. training travel meeting schedules).
7. Supports and assists with delivering training events.
8. Ensures data collection and storage and assists with processes as needed.
9. Communicates with team members manages any conflict and promotes relationships that facilitate collaboration and enhance team performance.
10. Provides supervision to team members as appropriate.
11. Verifies that staff time and effort align with budget and project parameters.
12. Assists with reporting required by funding agency involving team members in the process.
13. Coordinates with appropriate support staff in tracking expenses making purchases and managing project budget resources.
14. Supports and assists with developing project deliverables (e.g. presentations manuscripts curricula research evaluations).
15. Provides technical assistance as required by position.
16. Performs similar or related duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Level I Bachelors degree in a related discipline. No experience required.
Level II Bachelors degree in a related discipline plus 2 years of experience. For promotions must meet degree requirement and experience must include at least two years at the preceding level.
Level III Bachelors degree in a related discipline plus 4 years of experience. For promotions must meet degree requirement and experience must include at least two years at the preceding level.
Senior Bachelors degree in a related discipline plus 6 years of experience. For promotions must meet degree requirement and experience must include at least two years at the preceding level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills and the ability to interact effectively to tactfully resolve conflicts that can arise when interacting with a wide variety of people where short lead times and inherent scheduling conflicts may occur.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work within broad objectives thus requiring minimal supervision.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Experience with Microsoft office suite (i.e. Word Excel PowerPoint) and Adobe software.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. No unusual physical requirements.
2. Occasional and/or light lifting are required and nearly all work is performed in a comfortable indoor facility.
3. Frequent - Externally imposed deadlines; set and revised beyond ones control; interruptions influence priorities; difficult to anticipate nature or volume of work with certainty beyond a few days; irregular hours may be anticipated; meeting of deadlines and coordination of unrelated activities are key to position.
4. Job frequently requires walking sitting reaching talking hearing handling objects with hands.
5. Job requires standing stooping kneeling and crouching.
6. Vision requirements: Ability to see information in print and/or electronically.
7. Hearing requirements: Heavy telephone contact requires ability to hear and respond to telephone conversations.
