Biospecimens are among Roches most valuable physical assets; samples with associated high fidelity data are critical to all phases of Research and Development (R&D) this role you will support Pleasantons Biospecimen Acquisition and Management (BAM) subchapter by leading the Biorepository function. BAM is strategically positioned within the Development Services and Integration (DSI) chapter of Roche Diagnostics Solutions R&D organization.
Under the guidance of the BAM Subchapter Lead you will oversee a high volume Biorepository and deliver on network/customer area needs across a diverse portfolio of individual projects. You will develop the capabilities of Biorepository team members focusing on their skills in sample and stakeholder management and in documenting sample activities in the validated Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS). As a line manager you will optimize team members professional development journeys and coach direct reports while collaborating with other BAM team members. You will also play a critical role in stakeholder engagement across the organization.
THE OPPORTUNITY
Coach and mentor team members promoting their growth and career progression.
Facilitate the design planning and implementation of biorepository projects in an audit-ready environment to meet BAM stakeholders biological material needs in compliance with Good Clinical Practices Good Laboratory Practices Quality Business and Industry best practices/standards.
Represent biorepository function with internal stakeholders and support team members in their interactions with stakeholders to meet project deliverables.
Establish and monitor compliance with commitments including but not limited to meeting agreed-upon timelines facilitating and maintaining permits/certification(s) and managing inventory of biological materials and associated data in a validated laboratory information management system.
Document strategic metrics (Key Performance Indicators) and monitor performance.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with BAM members within/across service locations to adeptly manage service requests and associated process requirements.
Support the Subchapter Leads efforts in achieving excellence and driving strategic BAM initiatives to improve efficiencies across the organization.
WHO YOU ARE
You have a Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline
You have 6 years of experience or a background in the technical and ethical aspects of biospecimen utilization clinical operations or sample management.
You have prior experience supervising/managing staff.
You have 3 years experience applying broad knowledge in molecular biology or clinical studies along with an understanding of medical device development (especially assays).
You have demonstrated success in building a high-performing team environment thinking strategically breaking down silos and excelling in cross-functional collaboration.
You are someone who is committed to developing your skills to better yourself and your team.
Preferred Experience:
You have an advanced degree in a scientific discipline
You have prior experience navigating a highly complex global matrix environment to align cross functional stakeholders
The expected salary range for this position is based on the primary location of Pleasanton CA 00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience qualifications geographic location and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
