:59 PMAs Digital Editor you will create content for Radio-Canadas digital tools and various platforms. You will produce clips using publishing and editing software.
You will work on both daily news coverage and special projects partnerships and other station productions.
You will be expected to develop your own story ideas as well as those of your colleagues. You will stay up to date on digital developments and emerging trends.
Your work schedule will be Monday to Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Key responsibilities:
Monitor current events and relevant information within your coverage area.
Participate in production meetings; propose ideas and concepts and share editorial perspectives.
Research gather select and verify information from various sources.
Select content (reports interviews documentaries etc.) for online publication; adapt summarize and complete content as needed and determine publishing order.
Listen to view and select audio audiovisual and visual elements; adapt formats for online publication; request images and when required take photographs.
Write descriptive informational and promotional texts in a style appropriate to the platform; contribute to the development of interactive features and write related content; publish online.
Write articles by proposing editorial angles identifying interview subjects conducting and recording interviews and publishing content online.
Update website or section content.
Research select and insert hyperlinks.
Review and edit your own texts and when needed those of colleagues.
Collaborate in organizing and participating in interactive activities (moderation live chats discussion forums etc.).
Respond to audience inquiries and forward content-related requests to the appropriate teams.
Follow up on the various stages of digital projects as required.
Perform any other related duties necessary to carry out the above responsibilities.
Job requirements:
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree or equivalent
Two (2) years of relevant experience
Skills:
Strong writing skills with solid knowledge of grammar and syntax
Very good command of the other official language is an asset
Ability to work collaboratively within a team
Strong research and interviewing skills
Editorial ability to select relevant topics and adapt summarize and enhance content
Strong understanding of digital media practices and standards
Good knowledge of regional news and issues in the Estrie region
