Position Summary
Hopkins Lacy the mechanical electrical plumbing division of Branch Group is searching for an Electrical Field Field Superintendent is jointly responsible with the Project Manager for the overall success of any project. They are responsible for scheduling controlling costs and managing resources on an assigned project. They also provide continuousfieldsupervision while performing hands on installation as part of the crew of all construction operations. The Field Superintendent aims toattainor exceed profit goals andpromotesworkplace safety while meeting or exceeding company expectations. They also promote a positive company image andisthe leader on their assigned projectultimately responsiblefor its operation success.
Duties/Responsibilities
- This position is part of the crew and isrequireto performfield work labormajorityof the time.
- Works with tools in the field when needed /required
- Builds and sees through projectin accordance withall project contract documents plans and specifications
- Ensures compliance with all building codes local ordinances and company guidelines
- Becomes thoroughly familiar with project contract documents payment methods plans specifications subcontracts purchase orders shop drawings key dates liquidated dates and all other documents relevant to the project
- Ensuresaccuratelayout of workin accordance withproject plans and specifications and verifies same
- Responsible formaintainingprofessional relations with company owner the project engineer and all other members of the construction team
- Ensures thatappropriate partiesare notifiedregardingchanges or concerns in the construction plan
- Participates in pricing of changed/additional work
- With the Project Manager the Superintendent develops/updates a Grand Plan/Schedule of operation and effectively communicates this plan to employees. Ensures thatappropriate partiesare informedregardingmajor changes in the construction plan schedule means and methods or allocation of resources
- Identifies measures and reports toPMwork changes as they pertain to contract documents. Participates in pricing of changed/additional work. Documents or delegates documentation or alladditionalwork performed via daily reports/Superintendents diaries
- In concert with the Project Manager and prior to beginning workdevelopsa Grand Plan/Schedule of operation and effectivelycommunicatestoall employees. Reviews schedule during project to ensure deadlines are met notifiesappropriate partiesof all delays or potential delays and documents delays. With the PMmakessurethanscheduleis updated.
Duties/Responsibilities Cont.
- Clearly conveys potential risks and areas of concern to the PM. Works in concert with the PM to resolve conflicts and mitigate risks
- Is responsible foron-site safety meetings and implementation of effective safety procedures
- Prior to construction reviews with Project Manager andsubmitscomments of detail budget time restraints cost codes and purchase control
- Accurately documents labor and equipmentusageso the costs reflect the actual work performed in the field.
- Establishes a contractually acceptable level of quality by which all completed work is measured
- Is responsible foron-site safety meetings and implementation of effective safety programs
- Is responsible formeeting all OSHA and VOSHA standards and the enforcement of the Miss Utility policy for the entire project
- Is responsible forrecruitmentdeploymentand termination of hourly field personnelin accordance withcompany business needs and policies.
Qualifications
- Ability to make decisions in high pressure environment
- Acts with professional ethical mannerisms
- Understands building systems and their interface with each other
- Masters license in Electricial (preferred)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Working knowledge in standards specifications codes regulations and laws
- 8-10 years experience in construction
- 3-5 years experience in supervisory position
- High School level mathematic and language skills
- Valid Drivers License/MaintainBranch Group Approved Driver status
- Genuine concern & sense of urgency
- Ability to keep up morale on the job
