Job Summary

Description

A successful candidate must be able to work independently or within a group dynamic to accomplish departmental and divisional goals and objectives. This position will work with both campus and community partners to support educate and connect students to programs and resources. To align with the culture of assessment within the Division of Student Life the coordinator will assess learning outcomes of events programs and services by utilizing technology such as Campus Labs/Baseline to compile program/event statistics each semester for the annual report.

The coordinator will work with students to provide support and work with campus and community partners to elevate the student experience.



Responsibilities

STUDENT SUPPORT

  • Providing guidance and direct support to individual students and student groups
  • Organize leadership opportunities to promote individual and holistic student development

PROGRAM RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Planning production marketing and assessment of programs and activities
  • Develop initiatives focused on supporting and expanding programs and services for all student populations
  • Collaborate with faculty professional staff and students to develop and deliver campus cultural programs and services to various majors classes organizations and departments

RECRUITMENT/TRAINING

  • Facilitate educational sessions for students organizations and departments that align with institutional goals and mission surrounding fostering a welcoming environment and campus belonging

ASSESSMENT/REPORTING

  • Assess learning outcomes of events programs and services by utilizing technology such as Campus Labs
  • Compile program/event statistics each semester for annual report

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Representing the office at Divisional events
  • Serve on various campus committees to support current and the development of new programs and resources for all student populations
  • Engage in professional development activities/trainings to maintain current higher education practices
  • Negotiate contractual terms with agents
  • Support divisional and university strategic initiatives and priorities
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education:Bachelors Degree

Experience:1 yr of professional experience in higher education; Masters degree may substitute for 1 year of professional experience; 2 years of graduate assistant work counts as 1 year of professional experience

Knowledge Skills Abilities:

  • Knowledge of identity development and the impact of intersections of identities as it relates to college students
  • Ability to develop innovative programming for varying student populations
  • Knowledge of issues related to the changing landscape of higher education
  • Ability to develop programming that will support university recruitment and retention goals
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Someone who is adaptable and works well within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

Education:Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration College Student Personnel or related field

Experience:Direct experience working with college student populations; Experience advising and leading students or student organizations; Experience developing & delivering programs/initiatives in a college setting; Experience teaching courses; Experience leading and facilitating workshops and trainings
