About the role
This position provides an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse as an additional Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our existing Vascular team. As a Vascular Clinical Nurse Specialist you will promote quality nursing care through research based practice and be responsible for patient care and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate as part of a team including the Registered Nurses Podiatrists Clinical Nurse Specialists and Surgeons all working collaboratively to comprehensively assess and treat patients in our community and across the district as necessary.
- Take a holistic approach to patient-centred care that includes optimal diabetes control effective local wound care and infection control pressure relieving techniques and assessment ensuring adequate blood flow to the limb.
- Working closely in a team with the Vascular CNS also based in Southland under the guidance and support of the Dunedin vascular team particularly the Nurse Practitioner.
- Develop skills in a multi-disciplinary team educating and sharing knowledge with patients and outpatients staff.
- Some travel within the district will also be required from time to time.

About you
- Clinical Nurse Specialist or Senior RN with advanced experience in a similar scope
- Minimum of a Post Graduate Certificate in advanced health assessment and working towards a Post Graduate Diploma
- Extensive practice within the defined scope of clinical specialty.
- Hold a Level 3 / 4 PDRP.
- Full drivers license.
- Experience with wound care an advantage

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the expired NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the DSN Pay Scale Grade 2 between $116040 and $127674 p.a pro rata dependant on relevant experience.
