Job Title: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse (CVICU RN)

Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse to join our dynamic critical care team in Sanford FL. The CVICU RN will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients recovering from complex cardiac and vascular procedures including open-heart surgeries and other cardiovascular interventions.
This role requires strong clinical judgment advanced cardiac care knowledge and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-acuity environment.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients.
Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms hemodynamic data and vital signs.
Manage patients requiring ventilators vasoactive drips and invasive monitoring devices (e.g. arterial lines central lines Swan-Ganz catheters).
Administer medications and titrate IV drips per physician orders and protocols.
Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
Collaborate with cardiologists cardiovascular surgeons intensivists and interdisciplinary teams.
Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and recovery processes.
Document all assessments interventions and patient responses accurately in the EMR.
Ensure compliance with hospital policies infection control standards and patient safety initiatives.
Qualifications
Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida (or compact license if applicable).
Minimum 12 years of recent critical care or CVICU experience preferred.
BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring post-operative cardiac care and critical care protocols.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
