Job Summary

Lead Resident Assistant

The Lead Resident Assistant(LRA) provides exceptional person-centered care to residents while leading by example for other Resident Assistants. Acting as a mentor and resource the LRA ensures the community consistently delivers the Red Carpet Treatment in accordance with individualized service and care plans. This position functions under the direction of the Healthcare Coordinator and may require performing hands-on care. Certification as a CNA is preferred but not required.

Essential Functions:

  • Lead by example modeling care expectations and mentoring new and existing Resident Assistants.
  • Supervise staff including those administering medications and participate in new hire orientation and onboarding.
  • Provide personal care assistance per Individual Service Plans (ISP) including bathing grooming dressing toileting ambulation transfers and medication reminders.
  • Record vital signs maintain accurate resident progress notes and communicate status changes to supervisors.
  • Promote resident engagement and independence ensuring a safe clean and welcoming environment.
  • Follow infection control procedures and standard precautions uphold HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
  • Attend bi-weekly in-services mandatory trainings and participate in safety initiatives.

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum six months of caregiving experience preferably with elderly residents.
  • Completion and passing of the medication management course and at least 12 hours of annual in-service education.
  • Professionalism and ability to handle emotionally charged situations with poise.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and team-oriented approach.
  • Physical capability to assist residents with mobility transfers and daily living activities.

Qualifications:

  • 21 years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CPR certified within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to read write and comprehend English.
  • Meet applicable health requirements and maintain required continuing education credits.
