The team

You will join a multidisciplinary self-managing squad within INGs Agentic AI initiative. Together you design and build end-to-end solutions that have an immediate impact on INGs digital platforms. The team embraces a strong engineering culture focused on innovation craftsmanship experimentation and continuous learning.

Youll collaborate closely with data scientists ML engineers and product experts to deliver AI-powered features that are scalable robust and safe all within a culture that values openness curiosity and shared knowledge.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role you will build and operate the backend foundation that enables INGs next generation of agentic AI systems. Your responsibilities include:

• Designing and developing scalable backend services using Java and Python.
• Integrating LLMs and AI models into backend workflows to power autonomous behaviours.
• Ensuring systems are reliable secure compliant and ready for production at enterprise scale.
• Collaborating with AI/ML experts to turn ideas into working production-ready features.
• Implementing monitoring observability and continuous improvements for AI-driven systems.
• Working end to end within your squad contributing from requirement refinement to production operations.

To succeed in this role you bring:

• Experience building backend applications with Java (Spring Boot) and Python.
• Curiosity and affinity for working with LLMs embeddings or vector databases.
• Ability to work with Google Cloud Platform CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
• A strong interest in MLOps/LLM Ops and monitoring AI systems in production.
• A collaborative mindset enabling smooth alignment with engineers AI specialists and product colleagues.
• Proficiency in English (Dutch is a plus).
