Job Summary

**Role Overview of the Ultrasound/Vascular Technologist**

The Ultrasound/Vascular Technologists primary responsibilities entail the following:

**Equipment Selection:** Appropriately selects ultrasound equipment in alignment with specific exam protocols and specifications.

**Procedure Execution:** Articulates and performs ultrasound procedures tailoring explanations to the patients age and comprehension level.

**Patient Assessment:** Evaluates patient pain levels that may interfere with imaging processes and collaborates with physicians for necessary interventions.

**Patient Safety and Quality Care:** Delivers comprehensive patient care within a framework that maximizes safety and minimizes risks of medical errors.

**Transducer and Equipment Management:** Chooses the correct transducer and makes necessary adjustments to equipment controls based on the anatomy being examined depth of field and other technical requirements.

- **Equipment Proficiency:** Demonstrates thorough understanding and adept handling of ultrasound equipment according to established operational standards.

**Adherence to Protocols:** Executes procedures in accordance with established guidelines and protocols ensuring compliance with best practices.

**Documentation:** Accurately documents patient information and imaging results as per clinical protocols.

**Equipment Maintenance:** Regularly adjusts and maintains ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance.

**Qualifications:**

- Bachelor of Science degree.

- Minimum of two years of experience in Ultrasound/Vascular technology.

- Current registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) maintaining minimal certifications including Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) in abdomen (AB) and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).- Current Basic Cardiopulmonary Life Support (BCLS) certification.
