The integrated Low Back Pain pathway (iLBPP) is one of a number of modernised care pathways developed by the HSE. This pathway aims to identify patients who present with low back pain that need relevant and timely interventions in the most appropriate setting. The pathway enables GPs to utilise a specialty specific referral form and a stratified care approach thus placing patients on the correct treatment pathway depending on their specific needs and clinical presentation. The pathway developed collaboratively by the NATICP Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery and the NCP for Rheumatology will deliver a standardised approach to the management of patientspresenting with low back pain (LBP).
