Your contribution to Prysmians Success:
Prysmian Norway is looking for a Sr Product Development Engineer to be part of our R&D team in Drammen. Prysmian Norway is an important manufacturing unit and distribution center in the Nordics cluster. You will be a member of our R&D team focusing mainly on solutions for the energy sector. The core technology in the Drammen factory is flexible and fire-resistant cables for the Oil & Gas industry but the goal is to expand our footprint into other market segments. Your focus will be on cable design work development of new cable solutions and optimizing cable designs.
Your main tasks and responsibilities:
Cable design work including sales support at the tender stage and update of manufacturing specifications at the order stage.
Optimalization of the cable manufacturing process of the existing product portfolio to ensure cost optimalization (Design to Cost) manufacturing robustness and product quality.
In-house fire testing of existing and new cable solutions.
Maintenance of product certifications and systematic type testing of cables to ensure product reliability and documentation requirements.
Innovate and enhance product offerings ensuring that new solutions meet necessary standards and certification requirements.
Assist in managing all technical aspects throughout the life cycle of our deliveries.
Collaborate with team members in the R&D department and other stakeholders in the Prysmian organization.
You are the right fit if you have the following background and personality:
An Engineering BSc/MSc degree preferably in electrical or process engineering.
A curious and self-driven personality.
Experience in manufacturing process(es) and/or R&D work is preferable.
Affinity with testing both on a lab scale and full scale understand the need for systematic documentation of the test results.
Technical skills and a good understanding of industrial processes. Basic knowledge of cable manufacturing processes and cable installation processes is preferable.

Effectively communicate with all stakeholders in the organization.
Understand relevant national and international standards.
Understand customer specifications and requirements.
