THE OPPORTUNITY
- Youll get to work on one of the largest accounts in the agency to make amazing content from TV and radio shows to Bitesize and podcasts
- Not only do we get to lead the marketing objectives and strategy that drive real behaviour change we also manage the implementation of that strategy all the way through to selecting the data / briefing the media agency to deliver the creative (across multiple channels) and analysing performance.
- Youll be joining a large (50 people) group of talented and supportive team members dedicated to this account plus the wider agency creative teams. Oh and weve won quite a few awards for our work too!
- Data insights and performance is at the heart of what we do and youll be working across data strategy including segmentation UX Customer Experience strategy loyalty and creative. This is a fantastic account to learn or hone your skills in delivering effective end to end customer journeys.
YOUR ROLE
The Data Planning Team on this account is about taking Data Strategy into the future and using a scientific approach to ensure everything we do can be measured effectively to show business value. We are responsible for knowing who the customer is and being the voice of the customer to enable best in class customer experience.
The team focus on 3 core areas:
- Knowing a clients data inside out. The infrastructure the data tables and fields the models and segmentation RAPP have built and their value. All in service of being able to design solutions to improve a clients data sophistication.
- Bringing new data to the table. Find 3rd party data or new sources of valuable 1st party data. Introduce progressive data capture opportunities. All in service of enhancing the amount and value of data that drives our thinking.
- Driving measurement. Be the font of all performance knowledge. Build test and learn plans. Improve measurement sophistication by pulling it all together and leading clients towards optimisation recommendations
We need you to be a confident practitioner in all 3 and a natural data story teller. You also need to be passionate about measurement and performance. Someone who can help drive innovation in performance and work across data and technology to identify greater insight into customer engagement and conversion.
You will be the day to day Data Planner lead for specific segments of the customer base or for specific projects working with the Data Analysts and Data Selections Team to deliver best in class data solutions that deliver true insight.
Your responsibilities
- Support in the design of data driven communications strategies using both third party data and 1st party data
- Design test plans for new campaign activities and support data strategy proposals with business cases
- Support the creation of best-in-class statistically significant measurement and reporting
- Collaborate in a results-driven test learn and optimisation culture for the client
- Demonstrate to others how to write compelling documents / presentation around analytics and strategy the art of storytelling
- Working with the Account Team and the Analysts to scope and deliver projects on the Marketing Plan providing data driven solutions
- Working closely with the Analysts to deliver data projects and manage timescales for delivery
- Interpreting the findings from analysis and making recommendations for future campaigns
- Working with third party data suppliers to provide solutions for clients
You will need to be a natural collaborator who is able to collaborate within the Data Planning Team but also with Data Analytics Client Partnership Technology Strategy and Creative to deliver an integrated solution for the client. You will be part of high-profile projects to answer complex strategic questions using data; persuading our client to follow the right data-driven strategy and helping to build out our core propositions and products.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
- Currently in a similar Senior Data Strategy / Planning role.
- Ability to think laterally about how data can be applied creatively to solve business problems
- Demonstrable experience in the application of insights from data to develop marketing strategy and improve ROI
- Highly numerate logical thinker
- Understanding of how to use test and learn techniques in a marketing environment (e.g. development of test matrices creation of measurement frameworks evaluation of ROI)
- Understanding of how databases can be leveraged and enhanced to support the delivery of data strategies
- Understanding of analytical tools and techniques such as modelling and segmentation and how the outputs can be applied
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex issues clearly
- Well-developed organisation skills with a very high level of attention to detail
- A confident conscientious self-starter with a strong work ethic and the capacity to build excellent working relationships with clients and RAPP colleagues.
- Resilience and the ability to cope with changing priorities and work to tight deadlines under pressure
