Responsibilities
Provides support for patients with resupplying DME for CPAP program and assisting respiratory therapist when needed with setups. Provides insurance precertifications for DME.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verifies insurance for CPAP supplies and DME when needed.
- Takes care of patients in need of CPAP supplies drop ships supplies to patients.
- Assists in CPAP setups when needed.
- Serves as a communication liaison between patients and physicians.
- Assists in Quality Improvement activities as they relate to the CPAP program.
- Maintains familiarity with DME equipment and technical training in the use of equipment pertinent to area.
- Assists coordinator with direct patient care in the Sleep Center which includes assessment problem identification planning implementation and evaluation.
- When assisting coordinator follows physicians written and verbal orders which may include CPAP bilevel and heated humidification therapy in a safe and timely manner.
- Implements and documents patient/family teaching as part of the plan of care.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions unsafe conditions or employee/patient/visitor injury- accident to Coordinator.
- Assists coordinator with inventories of DME supplies.

REQUIRED:
- Two years of experience as a sleep study technician with experience in
