About Us

Ngamai Wilam is anewly built 12-bed residential eating disorder treatment facilityin Armadale. Jointly funded by theAustralian Federal Governmentand theVictorian Government thisspecialist statewide servicewill be managed by Alfred Care Group.

Ngamai Wilam provides24/7 trauma-informed recovery-focused carefor adults aged 18 and over in agender-inclusive home-like therapeutic environment. With a strong emphasis onfamily and chosen supports our team is dedicated toperson-centred care that promotes long-term recovery.

About the Role

  • Play a vital role in supporting individuals through their recovery journey in a residential setting.
  • Provide person-centred trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care under the delegation and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Monitor participants mental and physical health support daily therapeutic activities and contribute to care planning.
  • Deliver evidence-informed interventions tailored to the unique needs of individuals experiencing eating disorders.
  • Work within the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act (2022) and other relevant legislation.
  • Collaborate with the clinical and lived experience workforce to foster a therapeutic environment that upholds dignity choice and self-determination.

About You

EN

  • Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled Nurse) with AHPRA registration.
  • Medication Endorsement (must be listed on AHPRA registration).

RN

  • Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing or currently working towards (desirable).
  • Experience in mental health nursing and/or eating disorders.
  • Commitment to recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice.
  • Experience in residential inpatient or community mental health settings.
  • Experience providing therapeutic care for individuals with eating disorders across hospital community or specialist settings.
  • Knowledge of Dialogical Practice and its application in mental health care (desirable).
  • Australian working rights.
  • Current Influenza vaccination
  • Current Victorian Driver License Working with Children Check and Background Check.
