Shape the future of rare disease care in Belgium and Luxembourg. As our Medical Advisor youll be the scientific voice building bridges between groundbreaking therapies and the physicians who need them ensuring patients with rare blood and endocrine disorders get access to the treatments that can transform their lives.

Your new role

As Medical Advisor for Rare Disease youll be at the forefront of scientific communication and strategic medical engagement across Belgium and Luxembourg. Join a team contributing to Novo Nordisks expanding rare disease portfolio with late-stage haemophilia and growth/endocrine programs advancing clinical development;

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the development and implementation of the local medical affairs strategy for Rare Disease serving as the medical strategic lead across functions
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals establishing Novo Nordisk as a trusted scientific partner in rare disease management
  • Taking scientific leadership in national and regional advisory boards round tables and collaborations with scientific associations
  • Designing and delivering innovative educational programmes that increase awareness and advocacy for our rare disease portfolio
  • Working closely with Clinical Operations to support trial recruitment site identification and investigator engagement for our future rare disease pipeline
  • Generating medical insights on physician and patient needs care pathways and real-world data opportunities to drive better patient outcomes
  • Providing cross-functional scientific support to Marketing Market Access and other teams to ensure successful product launches and optimal patient Novo Nordisk at national and international congresses while continuously enhancing your scientific knowledge

Within International Operations youll join the Medical & Regulatory team focused on Rare Disease. This is a crucial role as we expand our rare disease portfolio with an innovative pipeline that promises to bring new hope to patients living with rare blood and endocrine disorders. Your work will directly support product launches and ensure healthcare professionals have the knowledge and confidence to optimally use our therapies for patient benefit.

Your skills & qualifications

Were looking for a scientific leader who combines deep expertise with the ability to build meaningful relationships and drive strategic initiatives. Youll bring:

  • A Medical Degree (MD) with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience
  • Experience in rare disease (particularly rare blood disorders and rare endocrine disorders) is highly valued
  • Comprehensive networking abilities and a proven track record as a strong cross-functional team player. Strong ability to work independently on scientific topics combined with solid project management skills
  • Strong understanding of medical value within the pharmaceutical value chain. A highly engaged dynamic and solution-oriented approach with good analytical and strategic thinking capabilities
  • Trilingual: English Dutch and French
  • Willingness to travel and adapt quickly to new situations in a continuously evolving environment
