Job Summary

Overview

The Adjunct Instructor works with the Program Chair to design and teach program courses ensuring overall program effectiveness. The Adjunct Instructor is committed to equity diversity and inclusion and advises and supervises masters degree candidates actively participates in faculty collaborative learning and demonstrates scholarly productivity.

Responsibilities

Teaches graduate courses in the Touro College GSE Bilingual Advanced Teacher Certification Program (on campus and online)
May supervise candidates during clinical practice
Provides academic advisement to program candidates
Serves as an instructional leader facilitating and participating with collaborative faculty teams course revisions and developing and sustaining the transformative pedagogy in graduate teaching and learning
Supports and contributes to program level continuous improvement for national/professional accreditation
Upholds the missions and values of Touro College and the GSE

Qualifications

Education

Masters degree required terminal degree (Ed.D or Ph.D) preferred in Bilingual Education or related education field

Experience

Successful classroom teaching experience K-12 of diverse students
Successful graduate-level teaching experience face-to-face and online
Successful experience supervising degree candidates in clinical field placements if assigned for clinical supervision
Successful leadership experience

Knowledge/Skills/Adbilities

Excellent communication teaching and interpersonal/intercultural skills across a wide range of mediums (including social media)
Proficiency in online learning platforms including Canvas Adobe Connect Zoom and other digital media
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel Power Point Outlook
Strong Bilingual education expertise in urban areas
Commitment to culturally responsive and sustaining pedagogy

Travel

Occasional travel to Program Meetings at Touro College locations.

USD $4000.00/Sem

Minimum Salary

USD $3500.00/Sem
