Position: SYEP Site Monitor
Reports to: Family Welcome Center and SYEP Coordinator
Location: Education Center - 132 32nd Street - Brooklyn NY 11232
Status/Hours: Full time seasonal position for 10 weeks months beginning June 15 2026
Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm
Salary Range: $25 per hour to $25 per hour
Program Description
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides young people with paid summer work experience and practical job training. Participants are placed at supervised worksites where they build professional skills such as communication teamwork time management and addition to hands-on work experience youth take part in career readiness workshops focused on resume writing financial literacy workplace expectations and goal setting. The program helps participants gain confidence develop employability skills and prepare for future education and career opportunities.
Position Overview
The Site Monitor is responsible for supporting and supervising youth participants placed at assigned worksites during the Summer Youth Employment Program. The Site Monitor conducts regular site visits to track attendance monitor performance and ensure participants are meeting workplace expectations. They serve as the primary liaison between SYEP staff worksite supervisors and youth participants to address concerns provide coaching and promote a safe and productive work environment. The Site Monitor documents participant progress assists with conflict resolution reinforces workplace readiness skills and ensures compliance with program policies and procedures. This role requires strong communication organization and youth development skills.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary liaison between SYEP provider and worksites.
Cultivate relationships with the participants and mentor them throughout the program.
Coordinate and carry out weekly site visits at assigned SYEP worksites.
Document site visit interviews observations program compliance and other findings in a site visit summary.
Collect review and ensure the accuracy of weekly timesheets.
Keep accurate records of enrollment attendance and payroll.
Effectively communicate with program staff participants and worksite supervisors about program needs and requirements.
Assist in other program areas when necessary.
Qualifications
High School Diploma.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with diverse populations including youth and employers.
Proficiency in computer applications and program management tools.
Flexibility to work mornings afternoons or evening hours
