Job Summary
Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is actively recruiting a Tier I Linux Systems Administrator with at a Top Secret clearance to support enterprise-level HPC environments. This position plays a key role in system optimization security implementation and collaboration with engineering and network teams.
Responsibilities
Asa Tier I Linux Systems Administrator you will have the opportunity to do the following:
- Provide first-line technical support for software hardware network infrastructure and system security within a Linux HPC environment.
- Address and resolve user issues related to HPC system operations and maintenance with professionalism and efficiency.
- Assist Senior Systems Administrators in optimizing hardware and software performance.
- Manage and maintain Linux user accounts triaging Tier 1 tickets and producing service ticket reports.
- Collaborate with the Linux systsems administrators and engineering teams to install configure and test HPC components including servers storage systems and networking equipment.
- Perform hardware replacements manage backup solutions and implement security measures to maintain compliance with all program requirements.
- Assist network personnel to configure equipment ensure network security and manage firewalls.
- Adhere to established IT policies processes and procedures while effectively managing changing priorities.
Qualifications
- Active TOP SECRET clearance w/SCI eligibility
- Bachelors degree in STEM discipline (e.g. CS Engineering IT etc.) and 5 years of experience
- DoD 8140/8570 IAT II-level certification (e.g. Security CE)
- VMware vSphere 6 and up
- Scripting (BASH Python or Perl)
- Familiarity with Kubernetes containerized technology Ansible and PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and securing and hardening Linux systems to meet RMF controls
