Analyst- Regional Sub-Saharan Africa Digital Infrastructure Opportunities Desk Studies
Headquartered in Washington D.C. Banyan Global is an international development consulting firm with expertise in economic growth health monitoring evaluation and learning economic growth and empowering communities. Banyan Global is recruiting an Analyst to support the upcoming Regional Sub-Saharan Africa Digital Infrastructure Opportunities Desk Study Series. This project will support USTDA decision-making about funding of activities such as feasibility studies technical assistance pilot projects and front-end engineering and design studies to support U.S. industry participation in digital infrastructure projects around the world. The role will support the review of initial project proposals preparation of Project Reports and the development of investment-ready terms of reference and budgets aligned with USTDA funding criteria and anticipated financing requirements. The period of performance is up to 24 months contingent on funding.
Responsibilities
- Support review of initial project proposals and preparation of up to 15 Project Reports.
- Conduct background research on digital infrastructure markets regulatory frameworks and competitive landscape in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Perform financial and economic analysis
- Support U.S. export and market assessments
- Assist in evaluating sponsor capacity and project risks including environmental regulatory and infrastructure considerations.
- Draft Project Report sections budget documentation and supporting annexes.
- Support preparation of the Final Report and public-facing market summary.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- 25 years of experience in infrastructure development finance trade analysis or project evaluation
- experience supporting feasibility studies technical assistance or project preparation activities
- Experience conducting market and regulatory research
- Strong writing and documentation skills in English
Preferred
- Experience in digital infrastructure sectors
- Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Familiarity with MDB DFC Ex-Im or commercial infrastructure financing
- Knowledge of international procurement practice
- Fluency in French or Portuguese
