As an OR Tech Certifiedyou are responsible for the following:
Interacts with co-workers visitors and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
Recognizes the patients their family/designated care partner(s) in providing safe compassionateand coordinated care based on respect for patients personal preferences priorities needs andcultural beliefs and values.
Communicates with and supports the inter-professional team patient family and designated care partners.
Inspects Operating Room (OR) for cleanliness and secures sets up and prepares OR equipmentinstruments and supplies which are required for surgicalprocedures.
Participates in team time out and is an active participant and advocate for patient safety and high-quality care in the perioperative setting.
Aids with gowning and gloving of Surgical team including the Surgeon
Assist with preparation of the sterile field including draping of the patient and maintaining sterilefield integrity
Gives a thorough report to relief personnel on status of procedure instruments materials and anyother pertinent information to insure a smooth transition of personnel during the surgicalprocedure.
Counts all sharps sponges and instruments with the circulating nurse prior to during and after thesurgical procedure. Follows the policy on how counts are performed and initiates corrective actionwhen count is incorrect.
Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization
Aids in maintaining supplies and equipment available to ensure efficient unitoperations.
Helps maintain a safe neat and clean environment to facilitate safe and effective patient care in theOperating Room.
Acts as primary preceptor to other surgical team members as needed
The OR Certified Tech will participate in the delivery of OR care in the operating room and/or ambulatory surgical center under supervision of a registered nurse. Responsibilities include scrubbing various specialties and securing general supplies/equipment needed for surgery.
Qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma
Completion of OR Technician training
BLS and OR Technician certification required
Certification through the NCCT or NBSTSA required.
One (1) year of scrub experience

Salary Range
$23.83 to $33.94 HourlyThe actual hiring rate will be determined based on candidate experience skills and qualifications. This position is not eligible for an annual incentive.
