Job Summary
Job Summary
The Radiology Technologist performs radiological procedures on patients in a physician practice office and processes the films/images for interpretation by a Radiologist.
Job Responsibilities
- Adjust equipment for proper exposure in accordance with radiation safety.
- Perform imaging studies that produce quality images.
- Be attentive to scheduling and work within allotted time provided for procedures.
- Explain x-ray procedures with patients and collect data for physician assessment. Position patient for exam/procedure. Determine proper film for x-ray. Process film.
- Prepare barium solutions or various chemical mixtures and administers to patients as required for their radiologic exams.
- Maintain radiographic area in a clean safe and orderly well-stocked condition.
- Assess patients needs and determine appropriate intervention(s).
- In the absence of the receptionist perform necessary clerical functions.
- Supervise students as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
- Minimum: Graduate of an approved Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
Experience Requirements
- Minimum: Diagnostic radiology experience
- Preferred: Additional modality experience
License/Certification Requirements
Minimum:
- Radiologic Technologist license valid in the state of Indiana
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT-R)
- Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
