What We Are Looking For
The Wright Group is focused on phenotype-driven studies of gut and oral microbiomes. Within this focus the research group has a strong program in the characterization and quantification of proteins from complex host-associated microbiomes. This position will develop novel quantitative metaproteomics approaches to characterizing the gut microbiome in inflammatory bowel disease.
We are hoping to extend our expertise by identifying exceptionally motivated individuals with a Ph.D. inchemistry biochemistry or biological sciences with significant training and hands-on expertise in mass spectrometry quantitative proteomics and bioinformatics and must have excellent communication skills and team work ability.
Additional skills of interest include experience in one or more of the following areas: microbiome sciences cell sorting pathogen biology protein expression cell culture cell biology molecular biology and/or functional assays.
