Job Summary

Data Engineer - Sales compensation

Description -

This role is responsible for the end-to-end data engineering ownership of sales compensation data including data collection transformation validation and analysis from primary and secondary data sources. The role ensures data integrity accuracy and compliance by implementing data cleansing automated validations and reconciliation processes that support sales compensation algorithms and reporting. The role performs root-cause analysis and recommends or executes corrective actions when data-related system issues impact compensation or sales outcomes. The role applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate technical alternatives.

Responsibilities

Designs and establishes secure and performant data architectures enhancements updates and programming changes for portions and subsystems of sales revenue and sales compensation data pipelines repositories or models for structured and unstructured data.

Analyzes design and determines coding programming and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture with specific focus on sales compensation algorithms and related business rules.

Writes and executes complete testing plans protocols and documentation for assigned portion of data system or component including validation and reconciliation of sales compensation calculations; identifies and debugs and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into data system architecture.

Leads a project team of other data engineers to develop reliable cost effective and high-quality solutions for assigned sales compensation data systems models or components.

Collaborates and communicates with project team and cross-functional stakeholders (Sales Finance Sales Operations) regarding project progress compensation logic changes and issue resolution.

Analyzes data inaccuracies impacting sales and compensation outcomes identifies opportunities and supports the development of automated data quality controls and monitoring to enhance overall quality of the enterprise data.

Identifies problematic areas within sales and revenue datasets and conducts research to determine the best course of action to correct the data; identifies analyzes and interprets trends and patterns in complex compensation-related datasets.

Works cross-functionally with different departments to assess define and develop report deliverables and data models supporting sales performance and compensation reporting.

Represents the software data engineering team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects related to sales performance compensation and revenue data platforms.

Provides guidance and mentoring to less experienced staff members on data engineering best practices data quality and compensation data pipelines.

Education & Experience Recommended

Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science Information Technology Software Engineering Statistics/ Mathematics or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
47 years of work experience preferably in data analytics data engineering data modeling

Preferred Certifications
