DescriptionThe Associate Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and executing costreduction and commodity strategies across assigned categories and locations. This role leads supplier strategy global sourcing initiatives and supply chain efficiency efforts using tools such as reverse auctions leveraging VA/VE and datadriven analysis. You will partner with crossfunctional and supplier teams to deliver cost quality and performance improvements while managing commodities on a worldwide basis for the RIDGID/Greenlee organization.
In This Role Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Develop and execute longterm supplier strategy deployment cost models opportunity assessments supplier financial analysis negotiations longterm contracts continuous improvement initiatives and supplier relationship development.
- Identify and develop efficient highquality domestic or global supply sources with attention to supply base rationalization.
- Manage commodity spend using sophisticated data systems tools and databases focusing on risk price quality delivery lean supply chain performance ROTC and working capital.
- Lead crossfunctional teamsincluding suppliersto implement commodity strategies costsavings initiatives or supply transitions.
Maintain strong knowledge of commodity trends including industry developments cost drivers global pricing material lead times and manufacturing processes. - Negotiate long-term agreements with competitive pricing payment terms quality expectations and delivery requirements aligned with company policies.
Build and maintain strong supplier relationships that support lowest total cost high product quality and excellent service.
Lead root cause analysis for supplier delivery or quality issues and implement corrective actions through supplier improvement plans. - Participate in New Product Development teams and Emerson commodity teams supporting alignment and consensusbuilding.
- Support and conduct reverse auctions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Travel up to 15% to support domestic initiatives.

- Techsavvy with experience using Word Excel PowerPoint JDE/SAP/QlikView Portal Insight IBEE and Team Center.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Analytical skill set paired with intellectual curiosity for identifying root causes and improved countermeasures. - Strategic thinking ability with a forwardlooking approach and vision for longterm goals.
Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Knowledge of purchasing systems and principles including lowcost country sourcing auctions VA/VE and leveraging tools (such as JD Edwards).
- Comprehensive knowledge of selected commodities.
