- Demonstrated experience in leading or coordinating enrollment advising transition or pathway initiatives.
- Experience working across multiple departments or stakeholder groups.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with diverse and at-risk populations.
Preferred:
- Masters degree in a related field from an accredited educational institution.
- Experience in adult education higher education and/or workforce development.
- Experience leading college and career pathway development or workforce-aligned initiatives.
- Experience facilitating courses workshops or academic support labs.
- Experience using data to guide program improvement and decision-making.
- Familiarity with college- and community-based supportive service systems.
Job Specification
The Assistant Director of College Transition Programs serves in a delegated leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight coordination and continuous improvement of enrollment persistence and pathway systems within College Transition Programs (CTP). This position exercises delegated authority from the Director of College Transition Programs to lead cross-functional efforts that support student access onboarding retention completion and successful transition into adult education workforce training and postsecondary pathways.
While this role includes direct engagement with students and partners its primary function is program-level leadership and accountability for enrollment strategy advising systems transition support pathway execution and performance outcomes that directly affect institutional effectiveness funding justification and scalability across campuses and partners. This role exercises independent judgment and delegated authority in making programmatic decisions related to enrollment strategy advising systems and pathway execution.
Job Duties and Other Information
- Provide leadership and oversight for student enrollment advising and transition systems across adult education workforce non-credit and college credit pathways.
- Serve as the lead student coach/transition coordinator ensuring consistency effectiveness and alignment of advising and transition practices that promote persistence retention and successful outcomes.
- Lead enrollment processes including admissions navigation placement and progression across program pathways in coordination with Admissions Financial Aid the Registrar Workforce Solutions and academic divisions.
- Oversee and support student access to financial aid and scholarship application processes in coordination with appropriate College offices.
- Hold responsibility within delegated authority for monitoring and advancing enrollment persistence and transition outcomes for College Transition Programs in alignment with Director-set departmental goals.
Orientation Workshops and Learning Experience Facilitation
- Lead the design coordination and implementation of student orientations enrollment sessions and assessment events to support access and onboarding.
- Provide leadership for the development and facilitation of workshops and information sessions for students families faculty staff employers and community partners related to College Transition Programs pathways and opportunities.
- Oversee the development and delivery of courses and academic support labs designed to prepare students for success in adult education workforce training and postsecondary environments.
Pathway Development and Coordination
- Provide program-level leadership for the development coordination and continuous improvement of adult education workforce and college credit pathways in collaboration with BPCC academic divisions Workforce Solutions and external partners.
- Ensure pathway alignment with student needs credentialing opportunities regional workforce demand and postsecondary transition expectations.
- Lead and participate in pathway planning and implementation efforts to strengthen transition outcomes beyond high school equivalency attainment.
Student Conduct Attendance and Performance Oversight
- Enforce student conduct and attendance policies in alignment with institutional and program requirements.
- Assist in the coordination of supportive service agencies related to compliance needs in collaboration with the Director of College Transition Programs.
- Provide leadership for the accurate and timely collection monitoring and internal reporting of key student performance metrics including enrollment attendance persistence completion and transition indicators.
- Ensure appropriate documentation and internal reporting related to student progress attendance and participation.
Outreach Recruitment and Institutional Representation
- Lead and participate in selected outreach and recruitment activities to support enrollment growth and pathway awareness.
- Deliver presentations related to Louisiana high school equivalency attainment college and career pathways student success and College Transition Programs offerings.
- Serve as a primary representative for College Transition Programs in institutional and community engagement efforts.
Data Analysis and Continuous Improvement
- Lead the collection monitoring analysis and interpretation of enrollment recruitment retention persistence completion and postsecondary transition data to inform strategic decision-making and continuous program improvement.
- Maintain oversight of accurate student records and documentation in accordance with institutional state and federal requirements.
- Prepare internal reports related to enrollment persistence completion transitions and overall program effectiveness.
- Use evidence-based milestones and performance data to guide improvement of enrollment systems advising practices and pathway execution.
Other Duties
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of College Transition Programs.
