Position Overview:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Transplant and CAR T Patient Educator to collaborate with nurse educators and preceptors in the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and CAR T cell therapy this unique role you will focus on educating new hires and developing comprehensive patient education programs. Your contributions will play a vital role in navigating patients and their caregivers through new therapies and workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Collaborate closely with nurse educators and preceptors to ensure ongoing education and clinical updates are effectively communicated to staff.
  • - Design and develop educational resources tailored for patients and caregivers helping them understand the transplant and CAR T processes.
  • - Lead onboarding sessions for new hires focusing on BMT and CAR T therapies and mediate essential training on site clinical updates and workflows.
  • - Create engaging patient-centered educational classes that empower patients and caregivers to manage their care effectively.
  • - Stay informed about the latest advancements in transplant and CAR T therapies to incorporate into patient education initiatives.
  • - Work collaboratively with the healthcare team to integrate new therapies and workflows that enhance the patient experience.
  • - Foster an environment of continuous improvement by seeking feedback from patients caregivers and staff to refine educational materials and processes.

Ideal Candidate:

  • - Background as a BMT or CAR TNurse Coordinator or Patient Educator in Hematologic Cell Therapy Oncology.
  • - A passion for patient-centered education with a focus on guiding patients through their healthcare journeys.
  • - Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with diverse healthcare teams.
  • - An eagerness to develop and implement workflows that simplify processes for patients and caregivers.
  • - Flexibility to engage in training initiatives aimed at improving the quality of care for transplant and CAR T patients.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) required

License/Certifications:

  • Current unrestricted California RN license required
  • Current BLS ACLS and PALS
  • OCN certification from ONS required (or willing to obtain within one year from start date)

Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Oncology teaching experience required
