Position Summary
The Compounding Operator is responsible for preparing high-quality batches of fill materials and gelatin solutions. This role follows written batch records ensures the safe operation of all compounding equipment and maintains compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) safety regulations and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
Essential Functions
- Competently operate softgel compounding equipment independently.
- Ensure production follows SOPs and cGMP guidelines.
- Provide hands-on training to new encapsulation employees.
- Document activities in logbooks using Good Documentation Practices (GDPs).
- Disassemble clean assemble and set up compounding machines and equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas raw material tanks and gelatin tanks.
- Follow batch record specifications to keep the compounding process in control.
- Perform compounding start-up activities and fill material mixing.
- Check equipment tag status (e.g. To Be Cleaned Ready to Use Operating).
- Control material loss and waste.
- Ensure bottles and containers are properly labeled.
- Follow gowning and PPE requirements.
- Operate equipment safely and report abnormal activities to management.
- Verify equipment is in working order and initiate maintenance work orders when necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

This position requires strict adherence to cGMPs safety rules and gowning procedures. Candidates must be comfortable working with machinery cleaning agents and manufacturing documentation.
