Our GCOO organisation is critical for HSBC. This team partners closely with business teams to drive simplification and deliver exceptional customer outcomes in Asia and the Middle East region which covers 26 markets 600 offices and branches and more than 140000 employees. By strengthening our control environment and enhancing risk management we drive operational excellence and enable the bank to deliver focused and sustainable growth in this super-region.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

We are looking for a capable and detail-oriented Data and Analytics Manager to support enterprise-level data platform building and data governance inclusive of standardized business financial model management business/ regulatory data analysis and bank-wide data transformation initiatives. The role plays a key part in both data platform and governance projects that align with regulatory and business priorities. This role will act as a key contributor in governance forums systems management and cross-functional (GB/GF) coordination.

In this role you will:

Conduct HSBC China Bank entity level data platform and business/ regulatory data analysis including data platform solution designing standardized financial data model management and business/ regulatory data analysis.

Bridge cross-functional (GB/GF) users with IT team lead corresponding business/ regulatory reporting interview and analysis engage cross-functional (GB/GF) users to perform user acceptance testing.

Responsible for the design and changes to data platform including financial data model metadata management data standards quality management security control etc.

Oversee the execution of data governance business-as-usual activities and in-scope projects ensuring timely issue resolution escalation and stakeholder engagement.

Drive cross-functional (GB/GF) initiatives coordinating project delivery and working groups focused on data platform data model and data analysis.

Represent the function in governance forums escalating reporting risks and data-related issues to senior management as appropriate.

Champion modernization of data governance across the organization.

Collaborate with local regional and global stakeholders to coordinate data platform data reporting and data capability initiatives provide expertise advices related to data and regulatory reporting and promote the optimization of regulatory reporting operational processes.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and innovations to modernize approaches in data governance and regulatory reporting.

To be successful in the role you should meet the following requirements:

Minimum 7 years of experience in large-scale data analytics data governance or regulatory reporting within financial services or a comparable sector.

2 years in a leadership role with direct experience in driving enterprise change and data transformation programs.

Demonstrated experience in project coordination or system oversight ideally in data platforms.

Strong knowledge of industry leading data platform data governance data analysis and regulatory reporting.

  • Fluent SQL/Python/Hive skills.

Familiarity with regulatory requirements for data model and reporting (e.g. NFRA/PBoC/SAFE requirements).

Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail combined with a strong delivery focus and ability to meet tighten timeline with quality results.

Excellent organizational and planning skills with a solution-oriented and delivery-focused mindset.

Strong interpersonal stakeholder management and communication skills capable of working with senior stakeholders across business functions.

Self-driven and adaptable able to work both independently and collaboratively in fast-paced high-stakes environments.

Comfortable working in multicultural and global team settings.

Fluency in English is essential due to frequent interactions with global and regional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelors or Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. Finance Data Analytics Data Management Information Systems).

DAMA CDMP certification.

Hands-on experience in data analytics data management regulatory data reporting.
