RTÉ Video RTÉ Radio 1and2FMare now looking to form a panel of suitably experiencedresearchers to cover vacancies and absences which may arise in itsprogrammeproduction teams.
Assignmentsin Videowill include such genresasEntertainmentDaytimeDrama IrishlanguageandSportsand will report to theHead of Production Resources.
AssignmentsinRadio 1and2FMwill include such genres as current affairs arts and entertainment daytime and lifestyle comedy and music Irish language and sportsand will report to the Managing Editor Radio 1or2FMContent Manager.
As part of theprogrammeteam the Researcher will make her/hiscreative contribution to the formulation and development of the relevantprogramme source contacts and contributors and collectverifyand prepare information for broadcast within the RTÉ journalistic and editorial guidelines.
About the role:If successful in your application you will be:
- Originating and developing strong story and content ideas
- Authoritative research of the subject matter including a critical and editorial assessment of the quality and accuracy of information
- Assessing the quality and suitability of contributors and finding new and diverse voices to contribute to our output
- Preparation of briefs publicity scripts pre-broadcastand ancillary platform material including online and social media
About you:- A proventrack recordinidentifyinga strong story/contributor/guestin TVRadioOnline Printor Digital
- A demonstrable ability toutiliseall available research tools and a desire to learn new technical skills asrequired
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- Editorial and journalistic awareness
- Proficiencyin the Irish language is desirable
- Excellentorganisationalskills and the ability to deliver against agreed timelines and targets
- Ability to consume information and respond in a professional manner whichdemonstratesdiplomacytactand sensitivity
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
